Now that I’ve gone over what to include in an email signature, I’m going to write a bit on a great application, called WiseStamp, a Firefox extension makes it easy to create and insert a signature in popular email services.
WiseStamp makes it easy to create the signature with the rich text editor (WYSIWYG) that also supports images. But remember, some email applications don’t support HTML or images. You can also easily add icons for instant message programs and social websites, like LinkedIn, as well. WiseStamp also provides a comprehensive “Getting Started” guide.
Once your signature is created, WiseStamp can automatically insert the signature, which be turned on and off quite easily as well. It works with Gmail, Yahoo, AOL mail, and Hotmail and supports FireFox version’s 2 and 3.

Overall, WiseStamp is a great option for those who are not the most technically inclined. The biggest downside to WiseStamp is branding – I’ve received a few emails from WiseStamp users and a link was included in the signature to the WiseStamp website. UPDATE: The branding feature can easily be removed. In addition to WiseStamp, be sure to check out Blank Canvas Gmail Signatures, the add-on I use for my Gmail sig.
